Description:
The total number of dorsal spines is 0, while the total dorsal soft rays range from 68 to 72. There are no anal spines and the anal soft rays range from 52 to 55. On the side with eyes, there are approximately 5 longitudinal rows of dark rings and the median fins display a row of small dark spots. A dark spot is present near the margin of the pelvic fin on the eyed side. The body has an elliptical shape with the maxilla extending to below the posterior border of the lower eye, and the pelvic-fin base on both the blind and eyed sides is almost equal. The overall body color is brownish. There are four double-nucleated ocelli on the ocular side with a pair above and below the lateral line. Each ocellus is a hollow circle with two closely placed black spots, bordered with a chrome-yellow color.
