Description:
The lateral line exhibits a moderately regular arch anteriorly with the junction of the curved and straight parts located below the 12th to 14th soft ray of the 2nd dorsal fin. The chord of the curved part of the lateral line is longer than that of the straight part. The overall coloration is generally silvery with a bluish grey shade above and silvery white below. Caudal, soft dorsal, and anal fins range in color from pale greenish yellow to dusky. The interradial areas of the soft anal fin rays often have a white spot at the base and the tongue is greyish brown to brown.
