Description:
A single pair of tooth patches is located at the front of the lower jaw and there are 28–30 lateral line scales with a modal value of 29. Small scales cover the lower 1/4 to 3/4 of the pectoral fin axil. Additionally, there are 36–44 gill rakers on the 1st gill arch. In terms of coloration, the body is light red. The opercular membrane is dark brown to black, extending to about the middle of the eye. The axil of the pectoral fins is dark brown to black, and the spinous dorsal fin is light red on the basal 2/3, transitioning to bright red on the outer 1/3.
