Description:
There are two pairs of tooth patches located at the front of the lower jaw. The lateral line consists of 25–29 scales with a modal value of 27, and there are small scales in the pectoral fin axil. The 1st gill arch has 36–50 gill rakers. Regarding coloration, the body is light red. The spinous dorsal fin is light red and whitish at the base, becoming broadly bright red distally. The soft dorsal, anal and caudal fins are pale red while the pelvic fins have whitish rays, tinged basally with light red and clear membranes.
