Description:
Shell large, up to 60 mm in length; inflated and thick with an almost rectangular outline, Umbones broad and placed close together. Externally shell sculptured with about 30 strong, , smooth and flat radial ribs separated by narrow interspaces. On the interior edges of the valves deeply grooved. Shell white externally and covered with brown periostracum bearing short bristles and yellowish internally.
