Description:
The body is elongated and the tail is exceptionally long, tapering to a pointed tip. Posterior nostril is situated in front of the eye. The mouth is large with the slit extending behind the front margin of the eye.Teeth are nearly canine-like and the pre-vomerine teeth form a single row extending far back on the roof of the mouth. Gill opening is slit-shaped and the fin rays are segmented. The color of the body is uniformly brownish.
