Description:
D1 IV; D2 24; P1 14; P2 I; A 20. Color of dorsal of the body silvery light brown and ventral half silvery white; a large black blotch beneath spiny dorsal-fin base; soft dorsal and anal fins pale; pectoral and caudal fins yellow. Body oblong and compressed; snout concave; first dorsal spine strong and much longer than second spine. Pelvis not distinctly tapered to a point posteriorly. Dorsal profile of head from first dorsal-fin spine to above eye slightly convex. Caudal peduncle depressed.
