Description:
The body is oblong ovate. Periostracum is smooth and thin, meaning the outer covering of the shell is smooth and not thick. Ligament is external, meaning it is located on the outside of the shell. There are two subequal adductor muscle scars, which are the scars left by the muscles that close the shell. Pallial line is without a sinus, which is a groove in the pallial line. There is no byssal gape, which means there is no opening in the shell for the byssus, a thread-like organ that some bivalves use to attach themselves to surfaces
