Description:
The outer surface of the shell is covered in coarse, continuous radial ribs. The outer edge of the shell is crenulated by a teeth-like projection. The hinge of the shell has 3 cardinal teeth, which are arranged radially in each valve. The color of the shell is creamy, with purplish-brown blotches arranged in zigzag patterns. The interior of the shell is white, but violet below the umbones.
