Description:
Shell small. thin, irregular. nequivalve, right valve more convex. Outer surface Sculptured by fine growth lines and spiny radial ribs.Lacks hinge teeth. Large adductor muscle scar in the centre of the valve. Other characteristics similar to those of other two species. Colour: outer surface usually red, sometimes orange and purple. Interior whitish but margin brown and purple.
