Description:
The shell is large, elongate, and relatively broad and thick. It is laterally compressed, meaning that it is wider than it is tall. The two halves of the shell are equal in size and the anterior end is angled, while the posterior end (back) is abruptly cut away. The gape of the shell is wide. The exterior of the shell is compressed, glossy, and smooth, with distinct concentric rays on the posterodorsal slope (the back side) and longitudinal lines (lines that run lengthwise) on the anteroventral side . The color of the shell is creamy, with reddish or pinkish rays on the posterodorsal slope and yellowish-brown on the anteroventral side. The interior of the shell is shiny pinkish-white
