Description:
The eye is very large that are smaller than the snout length and it features a well-developed adipose eyelid which completely covers the eye, leaving only a vertical slit centered on the pupil. The curved part of the lateral line has 21–24 scales and 0–4 scutes while the straight part lacks anterior scales and has 37–46 relatively large scutes. The upper third of the body and the top of the head display a bluish-green to green coloration, while the lower two-thirds of the body and the head appear silvery or whitish. A small elongated, blackish opercular spot is present on the edge near the upper margin and a narrow yellowish stripe may extend from the edge of the opercle to the upper part of the caudal peduncle.
