Description:
Body is elongated and highly compressed with a lateral line that runs nearly straight down to just below the second dorsal finlet. After which it slightly curves downward toward the keel of the caudal peduncle. In terms of coloration, the back is blue-grey while the sides are silvery white. The upper part of the body features a pattern of irregular, horizontal, narrow black lines that may occasionally break up into spots on the ventral side.
