Description:
The species displays a bluish to greenish coloration on its upper side and a pearly white color on the lower side. The upper sides feature narrow diagonal zigzag and reticulated lines, midside spots and fine wavy broken lines on the lower side. Dorsal fin has a total of 10 – 13 spines and 12 soft rays while the anal fin has no spines and 12 soft rays. There are 31 vertebrae and the body lacks a well-developed corselet but is covered with relatively small scales. The palatine is narrow and the anal fin originates clearly more posteriorly than the second dorsal fin. The anal fin spine is independent of the anal fin. The fish possesses a swim bladder and the snout is pointed with a small and single interpelvic process.
