Description:
D1 16; D2 absent; P1 15; P2 8; A 18. Color of back blue-green and flanks silvery; a dark spot on hind margin of gill cover. Body elongate, cylindrical; belly rounded with scutes but without prominent keel. Head long. Gillrakers fine and numerous. Dorsal fin origin nearer snout-tip to caudal fin base. Body covered by thin cycloid scales.
