Description:
The suborbital region is broad, measuring approximately 4–5 times the head length; the foremost teeth in the jaws are enlarged into canines. The interorbital space is flat, and there is a chevron-shaped patch of vomerine teeth. The maxilla lacks scales, and there are no teeth on the tongue. The anal fin consists of 3 spines and 8 soft rays, with scaleless bases for the dorsal and anal fins. There are 48–50 lateral line scales, and the caudal fin is deeply forked. The first gill arch features 20–22 gill rakers. In terms of color, the fish exhibits a yellowish to rosy color, with approximately 6 broken golden stripes on the sides. The top of the head displays a series of transverse brownish-yellow vermiculations, and the dorsal fin has yellowish stripes or rows of spots.
