Description:
The dorsal profile of the head is convex, with a small and oblique mouth lacking caniniform teeth at the anterior ends of the jaws. The vomerine tooth patch is broadly V-shaped, and the last ray of the dorsal and anal fins is shorter than the preceding rays. Both dorsal and anal fins have scales basally, and there are 22–26 gill rakers on the 1st arch. The caudal fin is deeply lunate. The body coloration ranges from pink to silvery lavender dorsally, transitioning to pale pink or silvery white ventrally. The dorsal and caudal fins are reddish, often suffused with yellow and with a blackish outer margin, while the anal and pelvic fins are light red to yellow, and the pectoral fins are light red.
