Description:
The length of the upper jaw is 2.4–2.7 times the head length, with caniniform teeth at the anterior ends of the jaws not significantly enlarged. The maxilla lacks scales, and there is a triangular patch of vomerine teeth. The tongue is toothless, and the interorbital space is flat. The caudal fin is deeply forked, and the anal fin has 3 spines and 8 soft rays, with scaleless bases for the dorsal and anal fins. The caudal fin is forked, and there are 57–62 lateral line scales. The coloration ranges from brownish to lavender or reddish-purple on the back and sides. The head features narrow yellow lines and blue spots, while the dorsal and caudal fins are light blue or lavender with reddish-orange margins.
