The floating polymorphic colony, typically under 30 mm in diameter, features a disk-shaped mantle and an internal float. Its margin is soft and pliable, while the central region is firmer, slightly convex, and bears a central pore with numerous stigmata. The mantle contains radiating endoderm canals. Internally, a chitinous float consists of concentric chambers, housing a disk-shaped reservoir of cnidocysts between the float and central gastrozooid. The under surface showcases one large central gastrozooid, a median circle of gastro-gonozooids, and a peripheral circle of dactylozooids. The colony appears dark blue in color, with various types of zooids exhibiting distinct characteristics and functions.
