Description:
X+I/25; D2 absent; P1 18; P2 I/5; A II/7. Body grey above, flanks and belly silvery; upper half of spinous dorsal dusky; diffused blotch on pectoral fin axil. Mouth large, terminal and oblique; no canines; two or three pairs of pores on front of chin, the first pair separated by symphysis of lower jaw; swim bladder carrot shaped, its appendages wing like without dorsal limb; caudal fin truncate.
