Colonies exhibit a columnar structure and/or thin horizontal or encrusting plates. Often, individual colonies comprise a blend of these growth forms. Columnar structures typically emerge in areas with strong wave action, while plates are more prevalent in sheltered environments. Corallites, circular and plocoid, vary in irregular sizes. Along plate margins, they may align in parallel rows.
Coloration: Ranges from pale to dark grey-brown or green, with occasional instances of bright orange.
