Description:
Fin Formula: D-XI, 13; P1-21; P2-1, 5; A-III, 13; C-18. Branchiostegal Rays: 6. Six irregular brown colour bands on sides of body forming a wavy mid-lateral stripe; dorsal fin with five black blotches separated by white bands posteriorly; caudal fin brownish shading to black ventrally, crescentic white band in middle of fin. Body compressed; mouth large, upper jaw short. Scales absent on head, nape, pectoral-fin base, breast.
