Description:
The body is oval, moderately elongated and compressed with both dorsal and ventral profiles exhibiting nearly equal convexity. The snout is pointed and when extended, the mouth points downward. The upper half of the front body and cheek are devoid of scales, presenting a uniformly silvery appearance. A dark blotch is present on the nape. The membrane of the dorsal fin, extending from about half its height to the tips of the second to fifth spines which is black. The soft parts of the dorsal and anal fins, along with the caudal fin, display a yellow color with grey edges. The pelvic and pectoral fins are colorless.

Cox’s Bazar and Patuakhali regions.
