Description:
The fish has a deep, oval, and compressed body, with its depth measuring 1.9–2.5 times the standard length. The snout is pointed, and the cheek and breast are scaleless. The anterior dorsolateral surface of the body is almost completely scaled, and the anteroventral profile of the lower jaw is strongly concave. The 2nd dorsal and anal fin spines are not elongated. In terms of coloration, the head and body are almost uniformly silver, with occasional tiny black spots scattered ventrolaterally on the body. There is a black blotch distally on the spinous dorsal fin membrane, and the pectoral fin axil is light brown, while the distal part of the soft anal fin is yellowish.
