The shape of this organism is linear to slightly lanceolate, featuring pointed and somewhat sigmoid ends. In chains, the cells overlap, with the cell ends accounting for about one-fifth to one-sixth of the cell length. When viewed from the valve side, it appears linear with slightly pointed apices. On the valve, you can observe coarse fibulae, and rows of small pores (porioids) are also evident. This distinct combination of characteristics defines this particular organism.
