Description:
The total number of dorsal spines is 10 while the total dorsal soft rays are 9. There are 3 anal spines and 7 anal soft rays. The lower edge of the suborbital is very slightly notched with the posterior edge being more or less straight. The dorsal fin originates approximately 4-7 scale rows from an imaginary line projected upwards from the posterior edge of the suborbital to the dorsal profile. An axillary scale is present. In terms of coloration, there is an oblique golden-yellow stripe extending from beneath the eye to the middle of the maxilla. The upper body appears pinkish, while the lower part is silvery white.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Cox’s Bazar and Patuakhali regions.
