Description:
Fin Formula: D-X, 9; P1-13; P2-1, 5; A-III, 8; C-18Branchiostegal Rays: 6Colour of body or yellowish, base of scales sometimes black; head brown; fins pale or yellowish, the edge of the dorsal fin reddish or yellowish. Body fairly deep, dorsal profile near eye nearly straight; snout moderately short; snout angle relative to the upper jaw; interorbital space convex; posterior nostril an oblong longitudinal opening, closer to orbit than to anterior nostril or about halfway between orbit and anterior nostril; eye situated close or relatively removed from dorsal profile. Inner surface of pectoral fin densely covered with scales; posterior angle of operculum fully scaled or sometimes with a wide scaleless area. Caudal fin forked.
