Description:
The shell is rostrate posteriorly. It is large, thick, heart-shaped, and trigonal. The outer surface is sculptured by discontinuous growth lines .The inner surface is smooth. The hinge line has hinge teeth on the right valve and a hinge depression on the left valve. Anterior margin of the valve has crenulations. The color of the shell is dirty white, violet in the posterior region and the ligament is dark brown. The interior of the shell is violet or purple.
