Colonies are characterized by short, oval-shaped columns. Corallites near the upper portions of these columns exhibit fine, irregular septa and diffuse columellae. On the sides of the columns, corallites feature broad, compact columellae and short septa. The colonies have large polyps with sizable oral cones. Their coloration typically ranges from brown, green or yellow often with white oral cones. Contracted polyps may display distinctly different colors.
