Colonies exhibit a massive size, exceeding one meter in width. The corallites have an irregular shape and possess thick walls. Septa are evenly spaced with a pronounced alternation where short septa are only present near the corallite rim. Paliform lobes are either poorly developed or absent. Columellae distinctly form centers. The fleshy polyp tissue creates a distinct rim above the theca giving a subplocoid appearance. The coloration is a steel grey hue.
