They have typically flat and subplocoid colony. Corallites are clearly subplocoid on convex surfaces, densely packed on flat surfaces and transitioning to cerioid as well as irregular shapes with up to three centers possible. Septa extend outward which are thin and irregular, sharply descending inside the wall. Paliform lobes are often underdeveloped or nonexistent. There is a diverse range of colors, frequently featuring contrasting corallite walls and oral discs.
