Description:
It has elongated body. The snout is rounded and the corner of the mouth extends backward beyond the lower eye, closer to the gill opening than the tip of the snout. Scales are ctenoid on the eyed side of the body and cycloid on the blind side. Typically, there are 12 caudal fin rays. In terms of coloration, the eyed side is brown with an irregular dark blotch on the gill cover, while the blind side is white.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
On muddy and sandy bottoms of the inner continental shelf to about 80 m.
