Description:
The belly has a total of 12–16 scutes. In terms of color, the back is light brown and the flanks are silvery, lacking golden or pearly spots. The first dorsal fin (D1) has 11 rays, the second dorsal fin (D2) is absent, the pectoral fin (P1) has 6+12 rays, the pelvic fin (P2) has 6 rays and the anal fin (A) has 107 rays. The snout is equal to the eye and the maxilla reaches just beyond the articulation of the lower jaw.
