Description:
No dorsal spines are present and there are no anal spines. The anal fin has 80 soft rays. The body tapers with a rounded belly in front of the pelvic fins and it features 16 to 19 scutes before the anus and 24 to 32 scutes from the isthmus to the anus, totaling 41 to 50 keeled scutes. Maxilla is long, reaching to or almost to the base of the first pectoral fin ray. The pectoral fin has 6 filaments, occasionally with 13 or 14 branched fin rays which are longer than those of the pelvic fin.
