Description:
The creature has a lavender violet-colored body with a dark brown patch on the outer lower surface of the palm of its left claw and the lower edges of its legs. Its eyes are elongated, with the stalks mostly black. The dorsal surface of its shell is covered with scattered granules and punctuations, along with numerous short bristles. Each claw has a tuft of dense bristles on the upper inner edge. The left claw is usually larger and is used to cover the opening of the shell. The outer surface of the upper half of the palm is covered with scattered granules, fewer on the lower half, while the central lower region is nearly smooth. There is no stridulating ridge on the upper outer surface of the palm, and the lower edge of the palm is straight or slightly concave.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Northern coast of the Bay of Bengal.
