Description:
Colonies exhibit a massive to encrusting growth form. The corallites are characterized by angular shapes and thick walls. Long and short septa typically alternate within them. In colonies from turbid waters, well-developed paliform lobes are present while colonies from exposed habitats may lack them. The prevalent color is usually a pale brown with corallite centers often appearing cream-colored.
