Description:
Though slick, the texture is also firm and succulent in other ways. The blade has a locally corrugated, uneven, and abrasive surface. Transversely oriented struts are present, but the blade is largely hollow and filled with mucilage. The thallus is foliose, simple, and upright. Pressing the specimen reveals a dull reddish tint.
