The bell of Chiropsalmus quadrigatus has a cuboidal shape with four clearly defined sides. It displays a pale blue color and is somewhat transparent, making it nearly invisible in clear ocean water. There are eight gastric saccules that are laterally flattened and resemble a cock’s comb. The epidermis contains nematocysts. Each pedalium has 5 to 9 fingers and tentacles irregularly arranged. The mouth is encircled by a ring of stinging tentacles.
