The filament tips exhibit only a slight curling. The axial cells are cylindrical, gradually reducing in diameter towards the apex, and they become flattened before each branching. Cortical cells develop at the nodes where the filament cells connect, creating distinct bands around the filaments, devoid of any spines. Spermatangial sori, cystocarps, and tetrasporangia are present. The plants are red in color and have an upright, tufted, filamentous growth form. The filaments are branched and anchored by rhizoids, with the upright filaments growing erect and branching in a pseudodichotomous manner, ultimately extending long and straight.
