Description:
The height of the spinous dorsal fin is moderate. Lateral line displays a moderate regular arch at the front, with the junction of the curved and straight parts situated below the 7th to 11th soft ray of the second dorsal fin. The straight part of the lateral line has 4–12 scales, followed by 23–34 scutes. The coloration is bluish grey above and silvery white below, lacking a dark opercular spot. The distal half of the second dorsal fin lobe is abruptly black, occasionally with a white margin, widest at the front.
