Description:
Vertebrae count: 126 – 130. The body is elongated somewhat cylindrical and slightly compressed, featuring a rigid tail and a sharply conical head. Eyes are very small and inconspicuous. The mouth is large, extending well beyond the eye and is equipped with small, sharp, more or less single-row teeth. The gill opening is a longitudinal slit beneath the throat, accompanied by an additional fold of skin. The origin of the dorsal fin is positioned over the gill opening and both the dorsal and anal fins are notably underdeveloped.
