Description:
This sizable and unique moray eel is characterized by a head with a greenish-yellow hue and features an undulating design of large, closely spaced dark brown blotches on both the body and fins which creating irregular bars with smaller dark spots in the lighter spaces between the blotches. The body displays a mosaic pattern with a base color ranging from blackish brown to greenish brown, complemented by numerous wavy, net-like whitish lines. Snout is darker and when alive, the top of the head presents a yellowish-green shade. Additionally, some individuals exhibit darker corners in the mouth.
