The bell of Aurelia maldivensis takes on a disc-shaped form with a very solid and rather thick consistency. The color of the bell is violet. The oral arms are large and curtain-like, with complexly folded lips and numerous short, pinkish-violet tentacles. There are eight wide marginal lobes, each with a very slight central depression. Both the eight rhopalar and the eight ad-radial canals are unbranched, while the outer canals are branched with occasional anastomoses.
