Description:
The colonies are mostly smaller and lack a fleshy appearance. The corallites have a cerioid to subplocoid shape with relatively thin walls. Delicate and widely spaced septa are visible. The colonies take on a prickly appearance because of the extended, upward-pointing teeth on the larger septa. The coloration can be consistent or have patches of brown, yellow or green.
