Description:
The umbrella of Pelagia panopyra has a mushroom-shaped or hemispherical appearance. The medusa displays a purple color and is more or less transparent. The bell margin is adorned with 16 marginal lobes. There are eight marginal sense organs, alternating with eight marginal tentacles, and four oral arms. Both the arms and tentacles are equipped with nematocysts.
