Description:
Shell large, up to 120 mm in length, spire high and elongate, body whorl narrow and tapering below. Aperture narrow and ovate, outer lip thick with strong varix and seven to eight pairs of teeth on the inner edge, columella with very strong, whitish, wrinkle-like ridges, siphonal canal almost closed and slightly twisted. Sculptured with close-set, strong, finely beaded, spiral ridges, alternate ridges stouter and traversed by a median groove, interspaces between the ridges traversed by spiral threads, varices five to seven, two on either side of the aperture strongly developed. Aperture, outer lip and columella deep red or pale orange. Colour light and dark tan, varices darker brown with white bands.
