The body is elongated, broader in the middle, and gradually narrows towards both ends. The upper surface, known as the bivium, displays a wrinkled appearance and is often covered with fine sand. The bivium is brown in color, while the lower or ventral surface, known as the trivium, appears lighter or orange. On the bivium, there are long and slender papillae, while on the trivium, the podia are arranged relatively regularly in three rows.
