Description:
The shell is medium-sized, thick, ovate-trigonal and inequilateral. The umbones are prominent and strongly anterior to the midline of the valves. Outer surface is smooth with concentric growth lines. The inner surface is glossy. Shell has two muscle scars and a hinge with 3 cardinal teeth. The pallial sinus is well developed. The color of the shell is variable, but is usually light brownish with light blackish radial rays. The interior of the shell is whitish.
