The thalli are slender, resembling delicate, soft, and bushy filaments. They have a pseudodichotomous structure and are anchored by rhizoids. The lateral pericentral cells of each segment consistently give rise to adjacent cells. Within each segment, there is only a single filament, which is monosiphonous. These filaments originate distally to the innermost pericentral cell and are arranged in a straight line, with branch tips that do not exhibit strong curvature. These plants are colored in shades ranging from red to dark red.
