Description:
The interorbital space is not long and covered in scales. The snout is bluntly pointed and the corner of the mouth extends backward well beyond the lower eye, either slightly closer to the gill opening than the tip of the snout or positioned midway between them. The body is elongated with scales being cycloid on the ocular side, except on the posterior part where they are ctenoid. On the blind side, all scales are cycloid. Typically, there are 10 caudal fin rays. In terms of coloration, the eyed side is brownish with a darker opercular region while the blind side appears whitish.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
On muddy and sandy bottoms at depths
of about 120–450 m.
